8 things to do alone

if you allow yourself to indulge a little, being alone doesn't have to be lonely. here are some of my favorite things to do when i want to be my own best friend.

1. take yourself to a movie

or create a movie theater experience in your own home. throw on some netflix and take the time to prepare the perfect selection of vegan snacks. comment the title of your favorite netflix movie below!

2. go to a museum

check out the website for your local art or science museum to find which day(s) in the month you can get in for free. i usually look for exhibits featuring female artists/artists of color because their work is seriously underrepresented in most modern art museums.

3. make up a dance routine

can't get a song out of your head? come up with a dope routine for the song and you have an excuse to listen to it on repeat all day. if you're not ready to come up with your own, look up dance/workout videos to your favorite song. 

4. doodle/journal

find a cool spot - in nature or at your favorite coffee shop - and spend some quality time with your journal or sketchbook.

5. collaging

whether you prefer to cut and paste in adobe or cover the floor of your room with magazine clippings, collaging can be really fun and satisfying because it allows you to take existing media and completely transform or add your own commentary to it. 

 

 

6. diy spa

- make a luxe spa playlist

- light some candles

- run a hot bath

- try one of these easy vegan face masks

- deep condition your hair with coconut oil

- make your own exfoliant or sugar scrub

- get your nails did

7. go thrift shoppin

challenge yourself to find the coolest accessory, clothing item, or collectable book for under $5.

8. play with your face

there's so many crazy makeup tutorial videos on youtube now. find the weirdest one and practice on your younger sibling.
